Office Conversion — Residential Renovation

Not every renovation starts with a home. This one started with an architecturally designed 1980s office in one of Perth's most sought-after suburbs — and a client who saw exactly what it could become. IKOS was brought in to do the full conversion: strip back the commercial bones and rebuild the space entirely as a functional, considered one-bedroom rental. The raw exposed beams that defined the office aesthetic came down, replaced with a properly finished ceiling and a run of downlights throughout — immediately warmer, immediately residential. Polished concrete floors were laid, anchoring the space with a material that felt both practical and refined. Where there had been no kitchen, IKOS designed and installed one. The bathroom was fully renovated, a new laundry fitted, and new light fittings selected throughout to complete the picture. The result is a rental that doesn't feel like one. A space with genuine architectural character — now entirely liveable.
